Born and bred in Singapore, Rekha completed her Diploma in Business from Temasek Polytechnic, where she majored in Corporate Communications & Events Management.
Her first job was as a Marketing & PR Executive at the Clementi Khalsa Football Club. She moved on to work at American Express soon after, before deciding to continue her education.
Rekha moved base to (Perth) Australia for two years to pursue a degree in Mass Communications, from the Curtin University of Technology. She believes that these two years were the most enriching years of her life and played a very important role in moulding her as the person she is.
When Rekha started working at the regional Customer Services Centre for Sun Microsystems after her graduation, she had no idea as to what her future had in store for her. Little did she know that this was probably the point from which life would never be the same again. Read on to know why!
For the records, Rekha has since joined Subway Systems as an International Coordinator, and is very much enjoying her job.
Rekha firmly believes that things happen for a reason and there is a supernatural power overlooking all beings. Her Dad has been her inspiration and she feels incomplete without her mother and family, and is thankful to God for being with her through her journey so far.
She would also like to take this opportunity to thank all family, friends, relatives and well-wishers for being part of this very special occasion in her life!
Naveen
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Naveen graduated from high school and went on to study a combined Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunications) and Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) degree at the University of New South Wales. After four years of study, Naveen decided to take a year away from studies to take up an internship at Sun Microsystems.
With only one year remaining at University, the decision to take a year off and gain some industry experience was tough. However in retrospect, the decision resulted in the opportunity to meet some fantastic new people (one of whom is Rekha) and also build experience not only within the I.T industry but also within the company. Following the internship, Naveen continued with Sun in a contracting role and now enjoys working full-time for Sun as a Technical Specialist and is also continuing his studies in parallel. With only a handful of subjects remaining to complete his course, Naveen is greatly looking forward to closing one chapter of his life (University) and beginning a new one, marrying Rekha and starting a family.
Naveen would like to thank his whole family for their ongoing support throughout whatever endeavours he has chosen to undertake over his life. Through his parents, Naveen has learnt to challenge himself constantly and is confident that his attitude to excel in whatever he partakes in will allow him to overcome the various challenges that life may present him and his soon-to-be wife.
In addition, Naveen would also like to thank the friends he has made throughout his life. Naveen has learnt many of life's lessons through his friends and would very much like to thank them for their never ending support, criticism at times, and encouragement.
